The triathlon is a three part race: off-road trail running, road bicycling, and kayaking, with a final running sprint back to the finish line. The duathlon is a off road trail run, bicycle and off road trail run to the finish.

Given the state of things, with the COVID-19 virus, we decided to keep everyone safe by moving the race to a knew date spring 2021. We are keeping to public health requirements.

Try Simsbury, Connecticut at a different pace! Now in it's 7th year, the New & Improved, expanded “Try Simsbury” Triathlon/Duathlon will be held on Sunday, September 27th , 2020 at 9:00am.The event conceived of by town volunteers to showcase Simsbury's recreational assets and promote athletic tourism, invites athletes of all walks to  “Try” Simsbury.  The triathlon highlights Simsbury’s wonderful outdoor assets, including numerous hiking trails, the wild and scenic Farmington River, and well-connected bike paths. Simsbury ia a silver level Bicycle Friendley Community. 

The triathlon includes a 5k trail run, sponsored by Sartorius, Avon CT. Followed by a 12mile road-cycling sponsered bike Bike Cellar of Simsbury and a 2 mile kayak sponsored by Collinsville Canoe and Kayak from Collinsville CT, with a final strong run back to the finish line. The duathlon is a 5k trail run, sponsored by Sartorius sports,  a 12 mile road-cycle sponsored by Bike Cellar of Simsbury and a 5k trail run to the finish.  Participants can compete on their own or with friends or on a team.
The race starts and finishes at the Performing Arts Center in Simsbury

Each participant will be provided a finisher item
The first 150 registered for any of the races will recieve a t-shirt
all races begin at 9 am after a quick breafing and discription of the races
There is a cut off time for both the TRY and the duathlon bike segments
everyone must have thier biked racked in transition area by 10:45am to continue on with the race.

Race is capped at 250 participants.  Event t-shirts go to the first 150 participants registered (team included)
